OUR STORY
Inspired by our journey, we created the care, companionship, and commute service designed for your needs
At Care Commute, we understand that caregiving can be overwhelming—especially when health issues collide with the demands of everyday life. Our service was born from lived experience, created by people who have been in the thick of caregiving themselves: navigating hospital corridors, rushing to appointments, balancing jobs, and holding families together.
It started with a deeply personal moment—when one of our founders, Disha, had to put a hold on her career to care for her grandmother after a sudden health crisis. What followed were years of medical visits, dialysis, surgeries, and hospital stays—all while managing work, anxiety, and the invisible load that caregiving places on one person. Over time, a driver who initially just offered transport became a trusted part of the caregiving circle—someone who didn’t just drive, but showed up, stepped in, and supported.
In 2024, when our co-founder Shivani’s sister suffered a spinal injury, she became the primary caregiver—taking a year-long break from work. Sharing the responsibility with her parents made it clear how urgently families need structured, reliable support. Disha and Shivani vented about the toll of caregiving with each other. Disha had been wondering that it should be a service, and when she shared this, it instantly clicked with Shivani, who had lived through similar struggles.
The realization was simple but powerful: what if families didn’t have to do this alone?
At the same time, our co-founder Brinda brought a different perspective—shaped by her work in skills and migration, she saw firsthand how invisible and undervalued caregiving labor often is in India. For her, Care Commute became a way to solve two urgent problems at once: supporting families in need and creating dignity and fair opportunities for those who provide care.
All three of us have encountered the emotional and logistical weight of caregiving—whether by caring directly for loved ones or by witnessing the quiet but relentless toll it takes on families navigating long-term health needs. We’ve seen how entire households often orbit around one person’s care. We’ve felt the uncertainty, the helplessness, and the deep need for dependable support.
That’s how Care Commute came to life—not as a business idea, but as a solution we wished existed. A service built for people like us—who care deeply, who show up for loved ones, but who also need a break, a breather, or just a helping hand.
